Folk Spectrum Collective Music Jam

Music returns to the OTL Tuesday, April 29th

Meeting biweekly, the Folk Spectrum Collective Music Jam is an incubator for trans* and queer music-makers. Know any single tune? Youโ€™re welcome to join! Even if itโ€™s just Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. This musical evening provides a nurturing atmosphere for amateur musicians to gather, play, explore and learn together. Tuesday, April 29th. Hope to see you there!

Please note. This evening is devoted to making music. Please respect the musicians and the goals behind this initiative. Do not come to the library on Tuesday evenings to borrow books, or meet and chat with your friends.

OTL Youth Group Friday, April 18th

Calling all 2SLGBTQIA+ youth! Are you between the ages of 14-19 and interested in connecting with other Queer youth in your community? Drop into the OTLโ€™s Youth Group on April 18th between 6pm-8pm to make some new friends and learn more about our community. Meetings are casual and drop in, so you can stay for as long or as little as youโ€™d like. Expect a mix of discussion, low stakes activities, and free time to chat and connect. We will be meeting on the third Friday of each month, so if you canโ€™t make this one we hope to see you in the future!

Trans Life Drawing April 10th

Join us on April 10th for a fun and inclusive life drawing session celebrating the beauty of trans bodies! This in-person class is open exclusively to the trans community, including non-binary and 2-Spirit people, aged 18+. We aim to create a unique, empowering space where the trans community can come together to create art.

Special thanks to our amazing partners at the AIDS Committee of Ottawa (ACO) for hosting us in their space.

To ensure a safe and inclusive environment, masks are required for all participants. Masks will be available at the entrance. Parking is available next to the ACO building, with additional street parking nearby. The events are held in The Living Room at the ACO, which is wheelchair accessible.

Music at the OTL Tuesday, April 1st

Music at the OTL begins Tuesday, April 1st from 7 to 9 pm. The first evening is devoted to learning tunes together. If you know just a single tune, even if it’s just Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, youโ€™re welcome to join. We hope to hold this biweekly, with the second Tuesday devoted to jam sessions.

Winter Pride: Visual Art Exhibit

A breathtaking showcase featuring over 50 talented 2SLGBTQIA+ artists! This vibrant collaboration between the Ottawa Trans Library, Capital Pride, and Ottawa Fringe highlights powerful stories, stunning creativity, and community connection. Donโ€™t miss this inspiring celebration of queer art!

Through this exhibit, we invite audiences to engage with stories of strength and unity, showcasing the profound ability of art to inspire, uplift, and build community.
